This is a love letter to leopard print coats. Ever stylish, ever rebellious, ever cool and I can’t imagine going through a winter without one.
As you may know, I’m a bit of a leopard print nut. I embrace it in any form, bag, shoe, dress, trousers, jacket, hat – bring it. If you’re with me, you may enjoy my old post on rocking leopard print like a mum here. It’s one of those perennial trends that never tires and I believe a leopard print coat is a wardrobe must have for every mum that slays.
Now this year, leopard print coats have graced the clothing rails in a slightly different form then recent years which have been all about voluminous furry leopard print. This year is much more rockerbilly sleek with streamlined tailored silhouettes and smoother textures. But whether you choose fluffy or flat, one thing remains, a leopard print coat will look great with everything, keep you warm and totally jazz up your outfits, be it for the school run, office run, park run, playdate run or night out.
How to wear it
- School run – sweater, joggers, beanie and trainers
- Play date/ park – polo neck & jeans, oversized scarf & converse/ ankle boots
- Work – Fine knit & Midi-skirt, flats or tall boots
- Date – nothing (joking) a little black dress of course, statement jewels and killer heels
That’s just it, and a reason why I just love the new V by Very coat I’m modelling in the pictures above. I have wear my leopard print coats (I have one fluffy and the new one) in so many outfit combinations. They’re just so versatile. No surprise then, I’ve not only spotted a few mums at the school gate rocking their’s, but also some of my favourite Instamums. Despite the obvious similarities in our coats, we’re all rocking them with so much individuality, no one looks the same. So, don’t worry, you won’t look like a fashion victim or a clone.
